Admission to NEHU affiliated colleges only through CUET

 Shillong May,2,2022(MMP):The North-Eastern Hill University has said all admissions into undergraduate courses in colleges affiliated to it will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). NEHU spokesperson, Dr. David Pyngrope said the NEHU, which is the only Central University in the state, is bounded by the rules and regulations of the University Grants Commission. He said the UGC had informed the Vice-Chancellors of all Central Universities that the National Testing Agency has been assigned to conduct CUET. Dr. Pyngrope further said the NEHU advised the students, seeking admissions to UG courses in colleges affiliated to it, to get themselves registered in the CUET portal at the earliest as May 6 is the last date of registration. The varsity has nominated Debashish Chowdhury as the nodal officer of CUET.

Registration cum Awareness camp for enrolling CSC Village Level Entrepreneurs

Shillong May,2,2022(MMP):The District Administration, East Khasi Hills will be holding a registration cum awareness camp on 4th of this month at 11:00 AM at the Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, East Khasi Hills District for enrollment of Common Service Centre, Village Level Entrepreneur (CSC VLE). Interested candidates will be briefed about the job role of CSC-VLE and will also get the opportunity to apply/avail bank loans under PMEGP, if required. The main aim of the session is to provide opportunities to the youth to opt for entrepreneurship as a chosen career path.

 Shillong May,2,2022(MMP):As part of the celebration of North East Festival, 2022 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District conducted a SHG Mela cum Financial Literacy Camp today at Tirot Sing Memorial Secondary School, Mawkdok under Khatarshnong – Laitkroh C&RD Block, East Khasi Hills. Speaking on the occasion Gavin M Mylliem said that the purpose of the programme is to provide a platform for the SHGs in promoting and showcasing their unique products and also to interact with fellow SHGs in exchanging knowledge and ideas among themselves. He opined that the Khatarshnong – Laitkroh Block attracts a large number of tourists and the SHGs should take full advantage of the tourist footfall by using unique features and techniques such as qualitative packaging and branding which can uplift their economic condition further which will ultimately lead to a sustainable livelihood and development. He urged upon the public to come forward and enrol themselves for Aadhaar as it is beneficial in availing various schemes from the government. He also enlightened the gathering to take active part in the financial literacy camp so as to enable them to avail benefits in the form of financial aids, interest free loans, etc which will be beneficial in the long run.
