Shillong, January 11, 2022 (MMP): The health workers and members of Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union today termed the meeting with Meghalaya Health Minister, James K. Sangma as “fruitful”. The leaders of this union said the Health Minister has assured the Union that the Government is working on their demands and also informed that the Government has provided additional funds to the GVK EMRI to increase their salary. They also said that the Government has admitted that the salary. Speaking to the media, Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union President Microlena Syiemlieh said “whatever decision taken by the Government, we will always accept, provided that their jobs are secured”. “The Minister has also assured us that the GVK EMRI contract will be terminated once its contract expires on the 31st March, 2022,” added Syiemlieh.
