Meghalaya Government imposed night curfew in Shillong and East Khasi Hills District

Shillong, January 4, 2022 (MMP): In view of surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in many States of the Country, Office of the district magistrate East Khasi Hills District Isawanda Laloo, has informed that night curfew will be promulgated with effect from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily in East Khasi Hills District, as part of containment measures. There shall be a total ban on movement during this time. All official, public and political gatherings are hereby prohibited. Weddings are permitted at 50% of the capacity in an enclosed space and maximum of 100 persons for unenclosed/open space, not exceeding 100 persons in either case. Private transport within East Khasi Hills may ply on Odd-Even number basis with those registration numbers ending in odd number to ply on Monday and those ending in even number to ply on Tuesday and to follow the odd-even sequence thereafter. However, on Sundays the restriction on Odd Even rule shall not apply. Exemptions only on genuine and urgent basis will be granted which will be regulated vide separate orders. All SOPs are to be strictly followed in the vehicle. Wearing of masks as per this office order No.C&S.2/CVD/2021/ORD/305 dated 03.01.2022 is mandatory. Anyone found without a mask is liable to be fined.

Mega Camps in Mawlai and Mylliem Assembly Constituencies

Shillong, January 4, 2022 (MMP):The office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District will organize Mega Camps in the Polling Stations of 15-Mawlai and 20-Mylliem Assembly Constituencies on the 7th & 8th January, 2022. The camps will be carrying out Covid-19 vaccination for people of 15 years and above, registration of unorganised workers for e­SHRAM, Aadhaar enrolment and Aadhaar seeding for Ration Card Holders.With regard to Covid-19 vaccination which is being carried out on Election mode (in all the Polling stations) in the above mentioned Assembly Constituencies, all are advised to avail of the opportunity of getting vaccinated at the nearest polling station, more so in the light of the rising cases of Omicron variant, which has been designated as a variant of concern by the World Health Organization. Vaccination is seen as the most effective tool to protect ourselves and our loved ones from severe illness, hospitalization and death.All are encouraged to avail the services being offered at the Polling Stations designated as vaccination centres of 15-Mawlai & 20-Mylliem Assembly Constituencies on the 7th & 8th January, 2022.

Shillong, January 4, 2022 (MMP):The office of the the District Medical & Health Office today organized COVID vaccination for 15-18 years at Conference Hall DMHO office in Nongstoin. The programme was launched and chaired by Dr SA Lyngdoh DMHO WKH briefing about the importance of and the benefits of vaccine after approval for the age group 15 to 18 years in presence of the District Immunization Officer Dr R Laloo. The DIO of the District has appealed to all the eligible beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 of the District to come forward to get vaccinated at the nearest COVID vaccination centres, CHC, PHCs, Sub-Centres to boost the immune system of the body in order to fight and contain the virus in the District. To mark the launching of the same the vaccine was given to the first beneficiaries at the venue.
