Khasi Students’ Union requests Meghalaya Government to facilitate talks with Union Home Minister during his visit to Shillong

Shillong, June 26, 2021(MMP): Khasi Students’ Union today requested the Meghalaya Government to facilitate talk with Union Home Minister, Amit Shah during his visit to Shillong next month. The KSU made this request following an announcement made by Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister, A.L. Hek that the Union Minister will visit Shillong on the second week of next month.

            Speaking to the media, the KSU President, Lambokstar Marngar said his organization, NGOs and Headmen of Shillong are very interested to talk Amit Shah because the state is facing so many problems including implementation of Inner Line Permit, boundary problems between Meghalaya and Assam and also with neighbouring Bangladesh. MMP    

People are reluctant to receive vaccination due to lack of awareness says KSU President

Shillong, June 26, 2021(MMP): The President of Khasi Student’ Union, Lambokstar Marngar today said that the people in the state are reluctant to receive the Covid vaccination offered by Meghalaya Government due to lack of awareness on the part of the implementing authorities.

            Speaking to the media, Marngar said awareness programme on Covid vaccination should be given by competent health authorities to gain the confidence of the people. He said the people are doubtful about the efficacy of the vaccine because the awareness programmes are given by Aganwadis, who are unable to reply effectively to the many quarries posed by the people.  MMP
