Lockdown extend in East Khasi Hills District till the 21st  this month

Shillong, 11 MAY, 2021(MMP):  Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma today informed that the state Government has decided to extend the lockdown in East Khasi Hills District till the 21st of this month. Speaking to the media at the Main Secretariat in Shillong after the Cabinet Meeting, the Chief Minister said 20 per cent of the non-essential shops will be allowed to open in the state to enable the people to resume their economic activity.

         He also informed that the Deputy Commissions of other districts have been given the power to lift or not to lift the lockdown in their respective districts. “It is up to the them whether to lift or not the lock down or to partially life the lockdown depending on the situation. The Chief Minister also informed that commercial vehicles will be allowed to ply not beyond 20 percent. He however, reiterated that it all depends on the wisdom of the Deputy Commissioners to fix to percentage for allowing these vehicles to ply, which will not be beyond 20 per cent.MMP
