Shillong, April 19, 2021(MMP):Meghalaya Government today announced closure of schools from the 20th of May due to the rising trend of Covid-19 in the state. This was disclosed by Meghalaya Chief Minister to the media at the Main Secretariat in Shillong after holding a meeting in this regard.
The Chief Minister also informed that the Government today decided to stop entry of tourists to Meghalaya from the 23rd, as this will help to contain the spread of Corona-virus. He said it is imperative to put a stop of entry of tourist to the state in view of the increase of Covid-19 cases in the state.
The Chief Minister said the necessity of restricting of the movement of people will not arise if people strictly adhere the Covid-19 protocols. He also urged the citizens of the state who have attained the 45 years of age to accept the Covid-Shield vaccination, as a preventive measure from being infected from Corona-virus. The Chief Minister also urged the people of the state to avoid going out of the state as far as possible except in case of dire necessity.
With regards the implementation of Inner Line Permit in the state, the Chief Minister said the state has shown its firmness on the implementation of ILP and the state Assembly has passes a resolution in this regard. MMP
