In Meghalaya Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrating 75 years of India’s independence

Shillong March 12th 2021(MMP): In Meghalaya, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrating 75 years of India’s independence began today at Shillong with a photo exhibition organised by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Shillong.

       Meghalaya Governor, Satya Pal Malik inaugurated the five day long exhibition which is celebrated to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Independence. The mahotsav will be celebrated as a peoples’ movement across the country. The Mahotsav is being launched on March 12 to commemorate 91 years of Dandi March.

       During his address, the Governor said that the freedom that we enjoy today is something attained by struggles and tribulations of countless many for about two centuries. He said that after 91 years of historic yatra, today our Prime Minister has flagged off a re-enactment of the Dandi March.

     Further the Governor said that such observations will instil the younger generation inspiration from the lives of these great leaders.The day was also celebrated in other district headquarters of the State.
