Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma felicitates successful entrepreneurs of the state

Shillong, February 19, 2021 (MMP): Meghalaya Promotion and Incubation of Market Driven Enterprises, which is part of the Chief Minister’s E-Championship Challenge programme was concluded today at the State Convention Centre, Pinewood Hotel in Shillong, where Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma and other dignitaries were present.The event was marked by giving away the PRIME Entrepreneurship Awards to successful entrepreneurs of the state including handing over the bank loan cheques to the prospective entrepreneurs to the state. The interest of the loan taken by the entrepreneurs will be borne by the state Government.

          Speaking on the occasion, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stressed on the need to fuel the growth of entrepreneurship to propel the growth of economy and livelihood options. The Chief Minister said this during the PRIME (Promotion of Innovative and Market Driven Enterprises) Entrepreneurship Awards ceremony given to the various entrepreneurs from across the state today.  

       Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma awarded the various entrepreneurs in the State Convention Centre today. Under Atelier model the artisans get financial assistance and grants from the Government and aid them into getting a loan from the banks to credit linkage from the banks. Dr. Vijay Kumar D, CEO of Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDS) stressed on the need of connecting the grassroots and said Meghalaya tourism is not about experiencing the crafts , food, culture that is out here.

      A few recipients of the awards also shared their experience and thanked the Govt. for the aid and the platform given to them by the Government. Financial assistance under Atelier assistance program plan to set up a modern Traditional methods is It may be mentioned Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had inaugurated Meghalaya’s first ever incubation hub called the PRIME hub on for state entrepreneurs which provided handholding, mentoring and incubation support to startups and persons with innovative business ideas in order for them to upscale their business

.      Chief minister Conrad Sangma congratulated all the PRIME awardees and said Entrepreneurship is needed for state to be self sufficient and self reliant he added that he is a staunch believer in entrepreneurship and his belief only gets stronger day by day .Sangma further added that Entrepreneurship will create for the livelihood for the youth who will come into the workforce. Chief Minister re-emphasizes importance of ongoing Covid-19 vaccination

 Shillong, February 19, 2021 (MMP): Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has re-emphasized the importance of the ongoing COVID19 vaccination drive. Stating that there haven’t been any major adverse reactions in people who have received the vaccine, Sangma asserted the safety of the vaccines. The Chief Minister also defended National Health Mission Director Ram Kumar against allegations of coercion in the current vaccine drive. While maintaining that he is unsure of what was said, Sangma says Ram Kumar probably had only the safety and best interests of health workers in mind. MMP

 

Fuel price reduction to cost Meghalaya Government 30 Crore monthly revenue

Shillong, February 19, 2021 (MMP): The expected revenue loss to the State exchequer would be around Rs 30 crore per month in view of the recent decision taken by the Meghalaya Government to reduce the price of petrol and diesel in the State. Commissioner of Taxes, Arun Kembhavi has informed that the price of petrol and diesel has come down by Rs 7.4 paisa and Rs 7.1 respectively in view of the reduction of the VAT. According to him, the sale of petrol in the state is around 1 crore liters per month while the sale of diesel is around 3 crore litres per month. The Commissioner of Taxes further informed that the government last year has collected a total revenue of Rs 322.57 crore on the sale of petrol and diesel. MMP
