Union Home Minister Inaugurates 69th plenary meeting of NEC

 Shillong, January 23,2021(MMP): Union Home Minister, Amit Shah inaugurated the 69th Plenary Meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) today by lighting the ceremonial lamp at NEC, Secretariat, Shillong.

       The Union Home Minister who arrived at Shillong a while ago was received by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma and other dignitaries of the State Government and the NEC. Vice Chairman of NEC Dr Jitendra Singh who is also the DoNER minister and Secretary of NEC accorded a warm welcome to the Union Home Minister.

      Governors and Chief Ministers of the eight North Eastern States along with a large number of delegations of State Governments and Central Ministries were present for the meeting which is schedule to conclude tomorrow. The meeting will discuss various developmental projects that are undergoing now and future plans of the entire North Eastern region. His visit comes at a time when Meghalaya is witnessing a large movement by a number of NGOs for implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State. MMP
