Meghalaya Education Department says regular classes for schools, colleges and educational institutions will remain closed till further orders

 Shillong, October 15, 2020 (MMP): Meghalaya Education Department has issued an       order pertaining to reopening of schools. The order was issued in compliance with the direction given by Union Ministry of Home Affairs relating to reopening of more activities in areas outside the Containment Zones. The order issues by Meghalaya Education Principal Secretary, D.P. Wahlang said that regular class activities for Schools, colleges, educational institutions will remain closed till further orders. The order however, said that schools will be permitted to open for activities, such as teacher-student counseling, clearing doubts, addressing hard spots, sharing unit, lesson plans, assignments, submission of works, student assessment programme. The order also said that all schools are to prepare a Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) to ensure all students are learning. The order also said that Online and distance learning shall continue to be permitted and encouraged. All schools to develop a 50% attendance schedule, roster duty of teaching and non-teaching staff. Only students of classes 6 to 12 are permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside the containment zone only, on voluntary basis for taking guidance from their teachers. This will be subject to written consent of their parents and guardians and will be permitted with effect from today, the 16th of October and mandatory compliance to the SOP, the order added.MMP
