Shillong, June 9, 2020 (MMP): The religious leaders of Meghalaya today decided not to reopen their religious institutions in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation. The meeting of religious leaders said that they have decided to cancel their earlier decision that religious institution should reopen from the second week of June. This decision was taken because they strongly feel that the situation is not yet favourable for reopening of places of worship, as Covid-19 is still on the rise in the state. “We are deeply concerned with the health of the citizens of the state”, they said, adding that places of worship will be reopened at appropriate time. Meanwhile, the Committee of Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church has decided to reopen their church in view of rapid increase of Covid-19 in the state. MMP
