All party meeting rallies behind state Government to maintain law and order in Meghalaya

Shillong 12th March,2020 (MMP): An all party meeting chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma at the Main Secretariat in Shillong today took stock of the law and order situation in the state. The meeting attended by the leaders of different political parties in the state including the Congress resolved to cooperate with the state Government to bring peace and harmony in the state. Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Chief Minister informed that the political parties have expressed their concern over the law and order in the state and suggested the Government to monitor the social media rather them suspending the internet.

         The Chief Minister profusely thanks the different sections of the society for their help and cooperation in the bring peace in the state, following a group clash Ichamati incident in East Khasi Hills District, in which three persons lost their lives. The meeting also suggested that churches, different religions, NGOs and traditional bodies, such as headmen and village council should be taken into confidence to ensure maintenance of law and order in the state.   MMP
