Government Lower Primary Schools Contractual Teachers urged Meghalaya Government not to discontinue their services

Shillong, February 26, 2020 (MMP): Meghalaya Government Lower Primary Schools Contractual Teachers today made an ardent appeal to the Meghalaya Government not to discontinue their services, even though they were unable to clear the Meghalaya Teachers’ Eligibility Test (MTET). Addressing a Press Conference at the Shillong Press Club, the President of MGLPSCT, S. Kharsyntiew said the Government should not terminate them from service, as some of them have served the Government more than ten to twelve years. Kharsyntiew said these Primary School Teachers have already cleared Diploma in Elementary Education (D L Ed) and the MTET has forcibly conducted by the Government. He also said that the termination of teachers from service will adversely affect their families and create unemployment, as the majority of these have already closed the employment age bar. MMP
