Annual All Souls’ Day observed in Meghalaya

Shillong, Novenber 2, 2019 (MMP): The annual All Souls’ Day is being observed by the Catholic Church of Meghalaya today. The day was marked with celebration of Holy Masses in all the Catholic parishes. On this occasion, the clergy and the faithful belonging to the Catholic Church prayed for all the departed souls through the intersession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints.

        Lighting of candles, placing of wreathes and flowers on the tombs of those who have gone the heavenly abode was done with devotion in at the different Catholic cemeteries in the state. In Shillong, the Catholic Diocesan Administration of Shillong Archdiocese, Fr. John Madur was the main celebrant at the concelebrated Requiem Mass held at the Laitumkhrah Catholic Cemetery in Shillong. Large number of faith drawn from the different Catholic parishes of Meghalaya, along with the clergy of different Catholic congregations took part with solemnity to during the Holy Mass. MMP
