Meghalaya to take steps to reduce maternal mortality rate

 Shillong, August 12, 2019 (MMP): In an attempt to reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate, Meghalaya Government will soon adopt a state-wide technology to map expectant mothers to assist them in reaching the nearest health centres on time. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma informed this while addressing the 1st of its kind National e-governance Conference held in Northeast India in Shillong. It may be mentioned that a pilot project pertaining to this was implemented in South West Khasi Hills District which showed a huge reduction in the MMR and the same is now being mooted to be implemented in the entire state of Meghalaya.MMP
