Shillong, August 2, 2019 (MMP): Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma today said the finance of the state is stable and there is no reason to be worried about. Speaking to the media after the launch of the Baby Leagues at the State Convention Centre in Shilong. Sangma said like in the past, for the state which depends 75 per cent to 80 per cent of the development work on Central Schemes, it is normal to have financial problems occasionally.
He also said the state used to face financial problems sometimes due to delay in the release of Central funds. When asked why the state was unable to clear the bills of the contractors, Sangma admitted that there are pending bills which the state Government is yet to clear them.
When asked about holding the Naional Games-2922, the Chief Minister said that the state Government has prepared a blue print relating to the mega sports event to be held in Meghalaya and the land has been aquried for constructing the main stadium. He said various deciplines like swimming shooting and others will held in different part of the state including Garo Hills.MMP
