Tuber behdeinkhlam fest concludes

     Shillong, July 22, 2019 (MMP):The Behdeinkhlam festival to drive away the plague and other evils from the society organized by Sein Raij Tuber amongst the Pnar people of Hynniewtrep community was concluded today at Tuberkmai Shnong village in Jowai, West Jaintia Hills in Megalaya. The festival witnessed a colourful display of 52 ‘rath’ at the Biar, or the sacred pool. All ‘rots’ were brought by Niamtre faithful from various parts of West and East Jaintia Hills. Members of the Sein Raij Tuber representing different localities of over 29 villages danced to drum beating of the drums and melodious tunes of traditional musical instruments, while carrying their rots as many 10,000-odd spectators cheered. On the occasion, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma was the Chief Guest along with other Cabinet Ministers and MLAs. MMP
