Colourful celebration marked the 19th year of All India Poetess Conference in Shillong

Shillong, April 30, 2019 (MMP): Book release, poetry reading and singing marked the colourful celebration of the 19th year of All India Poetess Conference held in Shillong today. Former Inspector of Schools, Government of Meghalaya, Andreas Sun, a renowned poet and prolific writer released the Poetry Books written by (Late) Rolace Sayoo and Ms Tisha Dkhar. Speaking on the occasion, Sun quoting a Greek philosopher who says “people miss the opportunity because they fail to listen to the talks given by people who matters and regret for listening to worthless talks”.

        Sun also refuted the misconception that poets are dreamers and termed them as social thinkers and reformers. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson of All India Conference, Prof. Streamlet Dkhar informed that Prof. Dr. Lari Azad, renowned poet of Uttar Pradesh was the founder of All India Poetess Conference because he wanted to empower women, particularly those who women who do not have the opportunity to expose their talents. Prof. Dkhar said though Prof. (Dr.) Lari Azad was a poet, he founded this organization because he wanted to provide a platform for the women. MMP
