Dorbar Shnong Chiiliangriaj in West Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya celebrates the 100th year existence of its Community Hall with a year-long celebration.

Shillong, April 22, 2019 (MMP): The Dorbar Shnong Chiiliangriaj in West Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya is celebrating the 100th year existence of its Community Hall with a year-long celebration. The hall was built in 1919. The year-long celebration was inaugurated by the Director of Arts and Culture Department, W. Nongsiej, Government of Meghalaya, in which, he also laid the foundation and the logo for the celebration. The programme was graced by Dalloi Jowai, Puramon Kynjin who was the Guest of Honour, Seinraij President, O.R. Challam, Chairman of Chilliangraij Locality, D.H. Pde, Chairman Organising Committee, C.W. Niangti and the residents of the locality. The other highlight of the celebration is the cutting of Centenary Cake, released of balloons, lanterns   and culture progamme by the youth of the locality. Speaking on the occasion, Nongsiej lauded the past generation for their noble idea for the erection of the Community Hall, where the residents of the locality could use it for various purposes including holding meetings, indoor games and staging of plays. The Chief Gust also asked to residents of the locality to emulate the good example shown by the elders of the community. MMP
