National seminar on public policy, governance and development in North Eastern states held in Shillong

Shillong, March 13, 2019 (MMP): A three national seminar on public policy, governance and development in North Eastern states of India was organised by department of political science, NEHU, Shillong, at the old guest house auditorium, NEHU Campus, Shillong. During the three days seminar, several academicians from within the region and outside will be debating on the issues concerning public policy, governance and development in the north eastern states. On the occasion, a inaugural lecture was delivered by Prof. G. Haragopalp, former faculty member of university of Hydrabad, presently a visiting professor in National law school in Bangalore. Prof. G. Hargopal is an eminent academician and civil liberties activist in the country, who has shouldered several academic and administrative responsibilities at national level. He is actively involved in Save Education Movement in Telengana and Andhra Pradesh States. He said that the macro level scenario of the country shows how the policy in this country is being shifting and trying to conceptualise the policy that provide the backdrop. He said all of us are aware that the role of public policy depends upon the role of the state. Where without understanding the nature and character of the state it becomes very difficult to understand the nature and character of the policy. On the occasion various scholars and dignitaries were also present on the occasion were Prof. Henry Lamin, Prof. K. Debbarma, prof. H. Srikanth, prof. Susmita Sen Gupta and others.MMP
