Meghalaya Government yet to decide whether to cease the ongoing operation at Kasn in East Jaintia Hills to rescue the trapped miners 

            Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said his Government is yet to decide whether to cease the ongoing operation at Ksan, East Jaintia Hills where 15 miners were trapped since December 13 last year. Talking to newspersons after the Meghalaya Day Statehood held at U Soso Tham Auditorium, the Chief Minister said that the Government will take inputs from all experts and organizations involved in the operations. “As soon as the Government received the report, it definitely take decision on the matter”, Sangma said. In this regard, the Indian Navy has suspended its operations as far as pulling out the body using the remotely operated vehicle citing that the body is disintegrating. On this, the chief minister informed that the Government has given orders to the medical department, Navy, administration and forensic for advice and suggestions as the body disintegrated when attempts were made to pull it out.MMP
