Along with other parts of the country, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 10th of November to 16th of November, 2018. The theme this year is “Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India.”
Integrity Pledge taking was organized for many days consecutively to ensure that maximum people participate in the Integrity Pledge taking. On the first day, the Integrity Pledge was taken by the Director, Prof. (Dr.) D. M. Thappa, the Deputy Director (A) Mr. David T. Umdor and the staff of Administrative Block. On the second day, there was pledge taking by Director Prof. (Dr.) D. M. Thappa, Faculty and Nursing Staff of the Hospital. On the subsequent days, pledge to take and Awareness Programmes were organized by the Vigilance Officer, NEIGRIHMS, Prof. (Dr.) P. Bhattacharyya for MBBS students, Nursing students, and Nursing Faculty. Essay writing on the theme, Skit play and Poster display competition was organized during the week-long programme. Certificates and Prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners were distributed by the Director, the Vigilance Officer, the Dean and the Deputy Director of NEIGRIHMS on the 16th of November, 2018. Nursing students of NEIGRIHMS Nursing College bagged most of the prizes.
Director NEIGRIHMS, Prof. (Dr.) D. M. Thappa, in his message, said that every citizen should be vigilant about corrupt practices in the society and organizations need to develop a robust preventive, participative and punitive mechanism, so that any incidence of corruption is brought to its logical end, to make India a corruption free country.
